Construction to improve U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) in southwestern Delaware County is getting underway, with the first-of-two roadway construction stages — the western half, Section 101 — set to begin in early 2017.

Under the much anticipated U.S. 322 Improvement Project, PennDOT is widening, rebuilding, and in places, realigning U.S. 322, and improving more than 20 intersections and interchanges along this well-traveled corridor from U.S. 1, in Concord Township to just east of Route 452 (Market Street) in Upper Chichester Township.

A preparatory contract (Section MIT, $7.3 million) is currently underway to develop a site for relocating a PennDOT maintenance yard and to construct wetland mitigation sites for the U.S. 322 corridor.

As we work toward the start of early spring construction, we’ll be updating the on-line experience. Visit our site often to find everything you need to know about the project, including progress of the ongoing design of the second stage of construction (Section 102) and new, detailed graphics of coming intersection improvements. We’ll also keep you current with the status of construction and its impact on your travels with regular progress reports and photos, Travel Advisories delivered to your email box, text alerts and more.

So bookmark this website and check in regularly as we improve travel and safety on U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway). And please, buckle up, drive safely and distraction-free every time.
